We affirm our intention to minister to all people as an expression of our commitment to the Gospel of forgiveness and hope in Jesus Christ;
we specifically welcome gay and lesbian persons to full participation in our worship and community;
we repent of any past words or actions on our part that have foreshortened our living out of the Gospel of forgiveness;
we oppose all expressions of hatred or repression for those who differ from us ethnically, culturally, or in sexual orientation, and support all efforts to eradicate such hateful and repressive actions in our community and city;
and we pledge to support our synod in its efforts to educate its membership and provide pastoral care and ministry to gay and lesbian people and their families.
