Beginning in January, the social ministry committee, led by Ann Hills, will meet to begin a brainstorming process for finding a vision and a focus for Augustana's social ministry within the Chicago community and the world. Included in this process will be the sharing of a book called "The Tipping Point" and seeking ideas and motivation from models used in other congregations and religious organizations for community action. The committee, which is currently a small, intimate group of people, wishes to invite anyone from the congregation who has been moved recently by world events and compelling social issues, to join us in thinking together about what bands of believers can do to initiate social change and growth in our society. Our first meeting will be on Tuesday, January 27 at 7:30 PM in the G.A. room at the church.
