Purpose
Lutheran Campus Ministry is a program geared toward undergraduate and graduate students, recent alumni and others affiliated with the University of Chicago, LSTC or any institution of higher education in the area. Our ministry is to reach out to these students and provide a place for them to have fellowship with other students, a place to worship and grow spiritually. The group is lead by Campus Pastor Elizabeth Palmer and two Peer Ministers, Sean McClellan and Bailey Pickens.
The purpose of the Campus Ministry committee is to support campus ministry and work with its peer ministers. We hold monthly meetings and discuss the peer ministers' report, treasurer's report, pastor's report, talk about ongoing events and fundraisers. Throughout the school year there are many events, including weekly dinner and Bible study, mid-week worship, movie nights with dinner and discussion, and philanthropic service projects with The Night Ministry and other nonprofits.
Campus Ministry is a great ministry providing an opportunity to encourage and support students during an inquisitive and challenging time both personally and spiritually.
